Ο πονοκέφαλος ταλαιπωρεί τους περισσότερους ανθρώπους των αστικών κέντρων και οφείλεται κυρίως στο στρες και το άγχος αλλά και στους γρήγορους ρυθμούς της καθημερινότητας. Ημικρανίες, πόνος στο κεφάλι αλλά και στον αυχένα προκαλούνται από διάφορες «απίθανες» αιτίες, που ούτε καν τις φαντάζεσαι…
1. Το κινητό σου
Ακόμα κι αν δεν κάνεις κλήσεις με μεγάλη διάρκεια, το κινητό μπορεί να ευθύνεται για τον πόνο που ταλαιπωρεί το κεφάλι και τα μάτια σου, ιδίως αν το χρησιμοποιείς για να σερφάρεις στο ίντερνετ. Όπως εξηγεί ο δρ Μαρκ Ρόζενφελντ, ερευνητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Νέας Υόρκης, «τα γραφικά του κινητού και οι μικρές γραμματοσειρές κουράζουν περισσότερο τα μάτια, γιατί πρέπει να εστιάζουν πολύ έντονα».
2. Ο υπολογιστής σου
Αν περνάς ένα μεγάλο μέρος της ημέρας σου μπροστά στην οθόνη του υπολογιστή σου, είτε για δουλειά είτε για διασκέδαση, μην αναρωτιέσαι μετά γιατί σε πιάνει πονοκέφαλος! Η οθόνη κουράζει τα μάτια και προκαλεί κεφαλαλγία.
3. Η έλλειψη ύπνου
Είναι σημαντικό να κοιμάσαι πολλές ώρες. Το ξέρεις. «Η έλλειψη ύπνου μειώνει τα επίπεδα της σεροτονίνης, μιας χημικής ουσίας του εγκεφάλου, και αυτή η μείωση προκαλεί πονοκέφαλο», τονίζει ο Τζάιλσ Έρλινγκτον, νευρολόγος στο Barts and the London NHS Trust.
4. Το σεξ
Είναι γνωστός ως «πονοκέφαλος της συνουσίας»: ένας οξύς πόνος στο κεφάλι που προκαλείται σχεδόν ταυτόχρονα με τη στιγμή του οργασμού, λόγω της αύξησης της πίεσης στον εγκέφαλο. Σύμφωνα μάλιστα με ερευνητές στην Κλινική Νευρολογίας στο Riiskov της Δανίας, οι πονοκέφαλοι αυτού του είδους αφορούν περισσότερο τους άντρες παρά τις γυναίκες.
5. Το φαγητό που μόλις έφαγες!
Ορισμένες τροφές περιέχουν τυραμίνη, μια ένωση που διαστέλλει τα αγγεία
και αυξάνει τη ροή του αίματος στον εγκέφαλο, προκαλώντας πονοκέφαλο. Τροφές πλούσιες σε τυραμίνη
είναι όσες έχουν υποστεί ζύμωση και όσες είναι καπνιστές ή παστές.
6. Το λούσιμο στο κομμωτήριο
Η θέση που παίρνει ο αυχένας σου στο λουτήρα του κομμωτηρίου ενεργοποιεί και πιέζει συγκεκριμένα νεύρα, και αυτό μπορεί να σου προκαλέσει πονοκέφαλο που θα σε ταλαιπωρεί ακόμα και μια -δυο μέρες μετά.
7. Το τζόγκινγκ
Λέγεται και «πονοκέφαλος της άσκησης» και εμφανίζεται μόλις λίγα λεπτά αφότου έχεις αρχίσει να τρέχεις. Όπως επισημαίνει ο Μάικλ Γκρος, νευρολόγος και διευθυντής κλινικής στο νοσοκομείο Clementine Churchill στο Middlesex, «κάθε τύπος σωματικής άσκησης κάνει τα αγγεία του αίματος στο κεφάλι, το λαιμό και το κρανίο να διαστέλλονταιι και αυτό προκαλεί σταδιακή αύξηση της πίεσης και κεφαλαλγία».
8. Το άρωμά σου
Οι δυνατές οσμές, ακόμα κι όταν είναι ευχάριστες, όπως αυτές των αρωμάτων, δραστηριοποιούν έντονα το νευρικό σύστημα. Το αποτέλεσμα το ξέρεις.
9. Ο βήχας!
Η συσσώρευση πίεσης στον εγκέφαλο που προκαλεί ο βήχας, όπως και το φύσημα της μύτης ή το φτέρνισμα, μπορεί να πυροδοτήσουν έναν πονοκέφαλο.

10. Τα ψηλά τακούνια
Η δρ Τζέιν Άντερσεν, μέλος του Αμερικανικού Ποδιατρικού Ιατρικού Συλλόγου, εξηγεί: «Η μυική πίεση που προκαλούν τα τακούνια στην πλάτη σου μπορεί να προκαλέσει ημικρανίες».
11. Η κοτσίδα σου!
Αν πιάνεις πολύ σφιχτά τα μαλλιά σου, πιέζεται ο συνδετικός ιστός στο κρανίο και αυτό σου προκαλεί πονοκέφαλο.

Όπως εξηγεί ο δρ Μαρκ Ρόζενφελντ, ερευνητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Νέας Υόρκης, «τα γραφικά του κινητού και οι μικρές γραμματοσειρές κουράζουν περισσότερο τα μάτια, γιατί πρέπει να εστιάζουν πολύ έντονα».
2. Ο υπολογιστής σου
Αν περνάς ένα μεγάλο μέρος της ημέρας σου μπροστά στην οθόνη του υπολογιστή σου, είτε για δουλειά είτε για διασκέδαση, μην αναρωτιέσαι μετά γιατί σε πιάνει πονοκέφαλος! Η οθόνη κουράζει τα μάτια και προκαλεί κεφαλαλγία.
3. Η έλλειψη ύπνου
Είναι σημαντικό να κοιμάσαι πολλές ώρες. Το ξέρεις. «Η έλλειψη ύπνου μειώνει τα επίπεδα της σεροτονίνης, μιας χημικής ουσίας του εγκεφάλου, και αυτή η μείωση προκαλεί πονοκέφαλο», τονίζει ο Τζάιλσ Έρλινγκτον, νευρολόγος στο Barts and the London NHS Trust.
4. Το σεξ
Είναι γνωστός ως «πονοκέφαλος της συνουσίας»: ένας οξύς πόνος στο κεφάλι που προκαλείται σχεδόν ταυτόχρονα με τη στιγμή του οργασμού, λόγω της αύξησης της πίεσης στον εγκέφαλο. Σύμφωνα μάλιστα με ερευνητές στην Κλινική Νευρολογίας στο Riiskov της Δανίας, οι πονοκέφαλοι αυτού του είδους αφορούν περισσότερο τους άντρες παρά τις γυναίκες.
5. Το φαγητό που μόλις έφαγες!
Ορισμένες τροφές περιέχουν τυραμίνη, μια ένωση που διαστέλλει τα αγγεία
και αυξάνει τη ροή του αίματος στον εγκέφαλο, προκαλώντας πονοκέφαλο. Τροφές πλούσιες σε τυραμίνη
είναι όσες έχουν υποστεί ζύμωση και όσες είναι καπνιστές ή παστές.
6. Το λούσιμο στο κομμωτήριο
Η θέση που παίρνει ο αυχένας σου στο λουτήρα του κομμωτηρίου ενεργοποιεί και πιέζει συγκεκριμένα νεύρα, και αυτό μπορεί να σου προκαλέσει πονοκέφαλο που θα σε ταλαιπωρεί ακόμα και μια -δυο μέρες μετά.
7. Το τζόγκινγκ
Λέγεται και «πονοκέφαλος της άσκησης» και εμφανίζεται μόλις λίγα λεπτά αφότου έχεις αρχίσει να τρέχεις. Όπως επισημαίνει ο Μάικλ Γκρος, νευρολόγος και διευθυντής κλινικής στο νοσοκομείο Clementine Churchill στο Middlesex, «κάθε τύπος σωματικής άσκησης κάνει τα αγγεία του αίματος στο κεφάλι, το λαιμό και το κρανίο να διαστέλλονταιι και αυτό προκαλεί σταδιακή αύξηση της πίεσης και κεφαλαλγία».
8. Το άρωμά σου
Οι δυνατές οσμές, ακόμα κι όταν είναι ευχάριστες, όπως αυτές των αρωμάτων, δραστηριοποιούν έντονα το νευρικό σύστημα. Το αποτέλεσμα το ξέρεις.
9. Ο βήχας!
Η συσσώρευση πίεσης στον εγκέφαλο που προκαλεί ο βήχας, όπως και το φύσημα της μύτης ή το φτέρνισμα, μπορεί να πυροδοτήσουν έναν πονοκέφαλο.

10. Τα ψηλά τακούνια
Η δρ Τζέιν Άντερσεν, μέλος του Αμερικανικού Ποδιατρικού Ιατρικού Συλλόγου, εξηγεί: «Η μυική πίεση που προκαλούν τα τακούνια στην πλάτη σου μπορεί να προκαλέσει ημικρανίες».
11. Η κοτσίδα σου!
Αν πιάνεις πολύ σφιχτά τα μαλλιά σου, πιέζεται ο συνδετικός ιστός στο κρανίο και αυτό σου προκαλεί πονοκέφαλο.
